I came back to Singapore after completing a 1 year project at Qatar and now I realise what a heaven, Singapore is. Ofcourse, it is one already for all those who had seen this country, but having spent close to 12 years in this country, all the initial charm fades away in course of time, completely due to the amazing capacity of the human mind to get bored, even if you place him in ALice wonderland.
Now back to my home, I just thought how I used to spend my Diwali weeks, in my childhood.
It all starts with gazing at the small cracker shops, in and around my house in Nungambakkam, a shop which normally sells pettikadai stuff like cigarettes, Goli soda, and Sarbath suddenly turns into a cracker shop overnight, ofcourse the whole shop can be bought out for 5000 rs, in those days.
Diwali is one time when I allow my ethics a little bit of calibration and allow myself to pocket some money out of the shopping bill. And once I accumulate 1 rs, I would buy 1 packet of OOLAI vedi , which makes amazing noise for its size or 1 packet of Bijili, which can last for 1 hr or so. And suddenly u become a hero among kids who are kiddier than myself. And, for me, it is really a super thriller to fire one in ur hands, without nipping the tip of the cracker wire, as it gives u less than 2 seconds to throw it away before it blasts on ur hand. I had my fair share of hand burn outs which I took great care that my grandma does not know.
One mre incident is that of blasting an AATAMBOMB right on my face, the proceeding is like;
Little kid removes the tip of the thiri and in the excitement rips off the thiri completely, now the bomb looks like a big mango without its Kaambu, having been educated throughout childhood not to waste anything, this kid tries to poke the OOthuvathi right inside the hole of the thiri outlet, and BANG goes the bomb in front of my face, at 12 years I was shocked beyond belief and my right ear was deaf for almost a week,
And as the days near, I would eagerly wait for my Dad to take me out to Parrys corner just on the Diwali's previous night, where U get all the amazing stuff at great bargain price, the normal routine is to go by bicycle from home to Parry's corner, eat dinner at some good hotel and stroll around the whole of Pookkadai police station to Parrys corner and buy cracker stuff for about 150 rs, which normally would cost about 1000rs. And my favorites are the handgun with roll cape, Double Vedi, Train, Rocket, Sangu Chakkaram and THari Chakkaram.
well, I leave it to you guys to follow up on my lead.

How I decided to blog
Well, jus like any other guy, I was trying to look for new friends and came across a really impressing blog by this girl, and decidedm hey, I should start blogging, if not for anything, atleast to develp my language skills.
THis blog spot by Ishwarya is so spotless, that it inspires me to start blogging,
well, enough for my first blog and soon my musings will be coming,
given my nature of getting furious at random social happenings which dont go well with the overall well being of the society, u would see mostly angry blogs from me.
